Vital equipment for Scunthorpe Hospital from League of Friends

Scunthorpe Hospital staff have given a big thanks to the Hospital League of Friends after they bought them a much needed piece of kit

The League of Friends (pictured) has purchased an Accuvein for the hopsital’s emergency department.

The Accuvein AV400 is a device which allows hospital staff to shine a light onto a patient’s arm to help identify veins easily when giving injections.

Ward sister Nicole Seeley said: “The device is already making a massive difference to the department, helping us in both routine and life threatening situations. We are so grateful to the League of Friends, we can’t thank them enough.”

League of Friends treasurer Harold Edwards said: “This appears to be a very useful device and will save a lot of time and patient discomfort.”
