CHRISTMAS came early at a garden centre which provides alternative therapy, support and learning opportunities for people with mental health issues.

The festive themed open day was held at the Walled Garden at St Catherine’s in Tickhill Road, Balby, which attracted more than 350 visitors.

Seasonal plants, Christmas trees and winter hanging baskets were just some of the items being sold which were created and cultivated by members of the centre.

The centre’s ‘Winter Wonderland’ also boasted an on-site shop stocking sweets and treats for visitors.

The event was held to raise funds for the centre, run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, and in turn nearly £300 was brought in from the day, a tombola and raffle.

Proceeds will go towards offering people more learning opportunities at the centre.
