Football fan Becki White is planning an epic challenge raising money for Sue Ryder charity in tribute to her grandmother.

Sue Ryder is a national charity that provides hospice and neurological care for people with complex care needs and 23-year-old Becki was inspired to do the challenge after seeing first-hand the care her grandma received at the hospice.

On the eve of setting off on her epic journey on November 3, to visit all 92 Football League grounds in the space of 92 hours – a distance of approximately 2,200 miles – she said: “My Granny spent the final couple of weeks of her life at a Sue Ryder hospice. The work they do is faultless, and the nurses deserve all the praise they can get. My family received some of the best support during such difficult times. There was always a smiling face or someone who was there for a chat. I want to raise money so people can continue to benefit from the care that we all did.”

The 92 in 92 challenge will include a visit to Doncaster Rovers, Keepmoat Stadium DN4 5JW on Wednesday November 4, but will also take in before that Sheffield United’s Bramhall Lane ground, Sheffeild Wednesday’s Hillsborough ground, Barnsley’s Oakwell ground and Rotherham United’s New York Stadium ground, and after the Rovers’ visit a trip to Scunthorpe United’s Glanford Park ground.

Becki added: “I’ve been wanting to do something pretty awesome for Sue Ryder now for well over a year and I’ve finally found the perfect event for me! My life pretty much revolves around football for nine months of the year. I’m totally and utterly hooked on my beloved Reading FC, and absolutely cannot wait to visit all of the 92 football league grounds in less than 92 hours.”

Becki has so far raised £1,300 but aims to raise more for the charity – 50p for every mile she will cover during the challenge – and is also looking for logistical support with contributions towards petrol, supplies and helpers to travel part of the way with her.

Becki has set up a justgiving page at {[https://www.justgiving.com/beckis92in92/]} for sponsorship or if anyone is able to offer logistical help they can get in touch via email at becksrfc@live.co.uk website.
