Firefighters have started damping down at the scene of a Hexthorpe industrial unit fire.
Speaking as fire crew were beginning to leave the scene around 4pm a spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “The smoke has now died down in the area so the train line has re-opened.
“Fire crews are expected to remain at the scene for the next few hours.
“An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place once the fire is completely out.”
Around 40 firefighters spent nearly ten hours battling the blaze that started at the unit in Albion Terrace, Hexthorpe at 8.10am.
