Kids got their game faces on as they performed the legendary Haka to the New Zealand rugby league world champions yesterday.

The children from Norton Junior School stamped, moved and bellowed the ancestral Maori routine before the Kiwis boomed it back at them.

The New Zealand team was full of praise for the group of about 50 children, who had spent weeks practising the dance and learning all about its history.

Second row player Simon Mannering said: “They have done a great job and they should be proud of what they have done.”
