Whisky lovers enjoyed a tipple at a tasting session to mark Burns Night in Bawtry today.

Manager at The Tasting Note in Market Place, Phyll Clark said: “We do tastings every Friday and Saturday, on wine, spirits and beer, whatever is on offer that particular week, between 4-8pm.”

Four brand of whisky were availble to sample - Talisker, The Macallam Gold, Jura Origin and The Glenrothes.

The store sells more than 100 types of spirit, 250 types of wine and more than 250 ales, beers and ciders.

Burns Night is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert ‘Rabbie’ Burns, author of many Scots poems.

The event takes place on the poet’s birthday, January 25.
