Four children were amongst those taken to hospital after a collision involving an off-road motorbike.

Police confirmed the 21-year-old motorbike rider is still in hospital with serious injuries and all four children sustained slight injuries.

The incident happened on Friday at 6.10pm in Elm Road, Auckley.

The rider, a 21-year-old man, was seriously hurt, while an 11-year-old boy and two boys, aged seven and eight along with a nine-year-old girl also sustained injuries.

A force spokeswoman said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision on Elm Road in Auckley, Doncaster.

“Yesterday, at about 6.10pm, there was a collision between an off-road motorcycle and four children, three boys aged 11, eight and seven-years-old and a nine-year-old girl.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or the rider prior to the collision, is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 738 of Friday, March 20, 2015.
