A Doncaster live music venue is to stay open amid rumours that it was going to close.

Owners of the Diamond Live Lounge in Wood Street said doors remain open for gigs but admitted ‘difficult decision’ may have to be made.

In the meantime lets have a look at some of the more famous faces that have played at the venue.

1. Go West

The 80s hit-makers’ debut single ‘We Close Our Eyes’ reached number five on the UK Singles Chart in 1986 and they were voted ‘Best Newcomers’ at the 1986 Brit Awards. Played at the Live Lounge in February.

2. The Pigeon Detectives

Indie rockers from Leeds who hit the big time in the mid 2000s. Debut album ‘Wait For Me’ reached number three on the UK charts. Played at the Live Lounge in September.

3. Space

Rose to prominence during the Britpop-era and scored a top ten hit with ‘The Ballad of Tom Jones’ in 1997. Played at the Live Lounge in November.

4. The Hoosiers

Debut album ‘The Trick to Life’ topped the charts in 2007. Played the Live Lounge in October.

5. Cast

Britpop heroes who scored seven top 10 hits in the 1990s, including ‘Walkaway’, ‘Flying’ and ‘Free Me’. Played the Live Lounge in June.
