Doncaster’s seven remaining council-run care homes are to be recommended for closure in a new report, due to be submitted to the Mayor and cabinet ahead of a final decision on June 25.

The report details the findings of a consultation process which has been ongoing since January, and looks at a number of factors including modernisation, demand and the views and needs of residents.

Assistant Director of Adult Social Care, Pat Higgs, explains some of the reasons for the recommendation, in an exclusive video with the Free Press.
