Former Coronation Street star Sean Wilson rolled into Doncaster to relaunch the town’s Farmers’ Market.

Wilson, who played Martin Platt in the famous soap for twenty years, now dedicates his time to cooking and creating high-quality cheeses, and has worked as a chef in some of the best restaurants in the world.

He wasin the Market Place to give a live cooking demonstration and officially relaunch the Farmers’ Market.

The Farmers’ Market is held on Wednesdays in Goose Hill in the Market Place, and is open from 10.00am.

Visitors can buy a varied mix of delicious produce including fresh meat and pies, breads, cakes and pastries, as well as honey and jams.

Cabinet member for Neighbourhoods, Councillor Joe Blackham, said: “Eating local food is good for the environment, tastes great and supports the local economy. I am pleased to welcome the Farmers’ Market back to Doncaster, and hope local people enjoy the fantastic range of local produce on offer.”
