VIDEO: Brave Ben Parkinson strides out for Doncaster Rovers

HEROIC paratrooper Ben Parkinson is so confident Doncaster Rovers will be promoted that he fulfilled his bet of walking onto the pitch before the end of the season.

Lance Bombardier Ben Parkinson had pledged to walk onto the pitch on the last game of the season if Rovers were promoted after having a bet with former manager Dean Saunders.

But he decided to fulfill his pledge early posting on his Facebook wall ahead of Saturday’s game against Notts County he wrote: “If you remember I had a bet with Dean Saunders that I would walk on the pitch on the last match if we got promoted. Well guess what I’m doing tomorrow. Come on Donny Rovers.”

Although Rovers saw their Championship promotion suffer a setback with a defeat, hopes are still very much alive as they need a draw or win on Saturday to avoid the play-off’s.

The stunt was good preparation for Ben who is determined to walk for the Queen when collecting his MBE on May 17.
