One of Doncaster’s busiest roads was sealed off for several hours after a blaze at a tyre workshop.
The A19 through Bentley has been reopened following the incident at Dexel Tyres earlier this morning.
Police and fire crews spent three hours at the scene and traffic was diverted after Bentley High Street was closed between the junction with Mill Gate and Playfairs Corner at Arksey Lane.
Some residents were evacuated following the incident at 9.25am this morning.
The fire has now been extinguished but residents were evacuated as a precaution after fire fighters located a gas cylinder which had overheated during the blaze.
Nearby residents were taken to Bentley Pavillion as a rest centre.
Bentley residents were advised to stay indoors with their windows closed at the height of the drama.
Patients at Bentley Surgery, which was within the cordon, were being allowed to attend their appointments as normal during the incident.
