Unconscious man rescued from car wreck

An unconscious man in his 20s was pulled from a car wreck by firefighters in the early hours of this morning.

Another man in his 20s had managed to free himself from the vehicle when firefighters from Barnsley arrived on the Scene in Doncaster Road, Barnsley at 4.15am.

Firefighters said the unconscious male had regained consciousness by the time he arrived at Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

Both men were taken to hospital as a precaution and are thought to have sustained minor injuries.

The incident happened around 4.15am this morning (Sunday August 2).

It is thought the peugeot vehicle collided with a wall and lamp post.

Firefighters said the car was a write-off.
