A GROUP of young dancers are hoping for global small screen stardom when they compete in a TV talent show.

Street Beat Dance Academy - based at Balby’s Woodfield Business Centre - was recently filmed for The Dance Factor.

The Sky One show will be screened across 118 countries - although no date has been set.

Kim Oakley runs the academy said: “We rehearsed for weeks to perfect advanced moves and stunts. Children were back flipping and head spinning in the ten minute routine.

“The children throughly enjoyed the day. They were treated like VIPs.”

Street Beat has already appeared on Sky’s Got To Dance and the BBC Blast Theatre. It specialises in urban dance, teaching a variety of styles.

The troupe will appear in Blast from the Past at the Civic Theatre on April 20 and 21 before performing in Paris in October.
