A TRIO of big-hearted fundraisers who are taking on a series of epic challenges in aid of a children’s charity have raised more than half of their target total.

Sally Kelly, Danny Brown and Nathan Davies - who are calling themselves The Yorkshire Puddings - are attempting to complete five challenges, including a marathon, a coast to coast cycle ride and a skydive.

The Mexborough trio have now gone past the halfway point in their attempt to raise £3000 for Children with Cancer UK.

They donned fancy dress uniforms last week to collect on Mexborough High Street and managed to raise £165, putting their current total at £1,579.

Danny said: “I was in a dog costume and Nathan was dressed up as an elephant. We had a great response and its fantastic to get over halfway to our funding target.”

The trio kicked off their fundraising trail in February when they completed a 13 mile trek in the Lake District and then completed an abseil down a rock face in Wales.

Next up is the Paris Marathon on Sunday, followed by a coast-to-coast cycle ride between Bridlington and Blackpool on May 5. They intend to finish their epic trail with a skydive on June 16.
