Trapped Isle woman rescued by firefighters

An Isle woman had to be cut free by a fire crew after her cooker collapsed on top of her in her home, around lunchtime yesterday.

The elderly woman’s hips and legs were trapped in the incident at North Street, West Butterwick. just after midday .

First aid and oxygen therapy were given to the injured woman by fire and rescue workers, before medical staff from the East Midlands ambulance service arrived to give support.

Fire crews attended for an hour. The woman was taken to hospital for a precautionary check-up.
