As part of the improvements along Doncaster’s A6182 White Rose Way, carriageway surfacing works are planned to take place at the Potteric Carr junction between 9pm on Friday (April 26) and 6am on Monday (April 29).
During the daytime of Sunday (April 28) works will be temporarily switched over to the Lady Bank junction to complete some surfacing works there before reverting back to Potteric Carr on Sunday evening.
Temporary traffic management and diversions will be in place during the weekend to allow these essential works to take place safely.
This will include traffic signal control, restricted turning movements and localised diversions at the roundabout.
There will be two closures of the road over the railway lines between the Lady Bank and Potteric Carr junctions on Sunday (April 28), between 3am and 6am, and between 9pm that day and 6am on the following Monday. The closures will affect outbound traffic only.
Director of Regeneration and Environment, Peter Dale, said: “The council is working closely with the main contractor Balfour Beatty Regional Civil Engineering to minimise disruption during these essential works and I would like to thank motorists for their patience.”
Signposted diversions will be in place. Full details of the restricted turnings and diversions are available at www.doncaster.gov.uk/wrw website.
The project has attracted £10 million of investment from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of Europe’s support for the region’s economic development and £9.7 million from the Department for Transport (DfT).
