Pensioner loses £350 after shop purse snatch

A PENSIONER was told £350 had been withdrawn from her bank account shortly after thieves stole her purse in a busy town centre shop.

The woman had just paid for some items in the store in High Street, Mexborough, when she felt someone brush against her.

When she turned around she saw a woman quickly walking away from the shop.

The pensioner realised her purse, which contained her bank card, had been grabbed when she checked her bag moments after leaving.

After reporting the theft to her bank she was told £350 had already been withdrawn from a cash machine in Swinton.

Police are looking for two people who they want to question about the theft.

The incident happened around 12.30pm on September 13 but police only released details this week.
