Biker hurt in York Road crash

A MOTORCYCLIST suffered a broken leg and arm in a collision with a car on one of Doncaster’s busiest roads.

Police had to close part of the northbound carriageway of York Road for nearly two hours following the smash between a blue Peugeot car and white Aprilia motorcycle at the junction with Alwyn Avenue, Scawthorpe.

Traffic was diverted along Barnsley Road following the collision at around 5.10pm yesterday.

The motorcyclist suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary , police said.

A police spokesman said the driver of the car was not hurt.
