SCHOOL kids in Swinton donned their gardening gloves to help tidy up flower beds in the town centre.

Year six pupils from Fitzwilliam Primary School joined councillors Ken Wyatt and John Doyle for the clean-up last Friday.

Councillor Wyatt said: “They weeded out the flower beds and will come back in the next couple of weeks to plant the summer flowers. They did a good job and we are looking forward to seeing what the new plants will look like.”

Pupils adopted the flower beds four years ago and have tended to them ever since.
