MEXBOROUGH’s marathon man Tommy Joyce MBE showed a clean pair of heels to raise money for two local good causes.
The 65-year-old, of Maple Road, completed a treadmill run outside the Tesco store on Mexborough High Street to raise about £150.
He gave £100 to Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield and donated £50 to help buy Christmas presents for residents of Highgrove Care Home in Mexborough.
Tommy, who was honoured by the Queen for his charity fundraising in 2007, is planning another treadmill run at Tesco’s later this month.
He said: “I’m pleased with the total from the first run and hope people will support the next one.”
