Doncaster CVS has teamed up with the Free Press to launch their community sector awards, and now we want you, our readers, to chose your Community Group of the Year.
Last month we announced the launch of the Doncaster CVS Community and Voluntary Sector awards, which will mark the organisation’s 70th year, and since then you have been busy sending in your nominations.
There are eight awards in total, and we want you, our readers, to choose the winner of the Free Press sponsored Community Group Award.
The nominees are:
- Aquafyn Training Limited
- Hexthorpe Youth Drop
- Aspergers Youth Club
- The Friends of Sandall Park
- The Friends of Hatfield Church Building Trust
- The People Focused Group in Doncaster
- Mid Teenz and Rock 4 Youth.
To make your vote email firstname.lastname@example.org, with the subject line Doncaster CVS awards, by no later than midday on Monday, December 2.
The awards seek to recognise and reward individuals and groups in Doncaster’s ‘third sector’.
Norma Wardman, director of Doncaster CVS said: “We wanted to do something special to mark our 70th year ‘in business’.
The Doncaster CVS Awards are the ideal way to celebrate that milestone by highlighting the incredible work that goes on in the voluntary and community sector on a daily basis here in the town.”
She added: “I’m certain the inaugural event will be a huge success – it would be great if we were able to make the awards an annual occasion and create a lasting legacy that will ultimately encourage even more people to get involved in this growing sector.”
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Keepmoat Stadium on December 6.
