A LIBRARY staffed by volunteers is hosting a charity event this weekend.
Aimed at raising much-needed money, the Marie Curie tea party at Stainforth library takes place from 10am-1pm on Saturday, July 14.
Organisers hope plenty of people will call in to boost funds for the long-established cancer care charity and also see what’s on offer at the Church Road library.
Refreshments and home-baked cakes will be on sale and the event will also include games and a raffle, with some proceeds going to the community group Stainforth for All to help with library running costs.
Organiser Stuart Bolton said the facility was going from strength to strength since volunteers stepped in to save it from closure earlier this year. It already has a popular charity shop and helpers hope to introduce community activities, particularly educational ones for youngsters.
