TWO Barnsley market traders organised a charity day which raised thousands of pounds to help kidney patients across South Yorkshire.

Chris Hardy, 48, from Elsecar, and Neil Hardcastle, 46, from Ardsley, organised a golf day for 32 players and dinner attended by 85 people at Thornhurst Manor near Doncaster.

The events raised more than £2000, while almost £3000 more was raised through raffle collections. Around £5000 in total went to the Sheffield Hospitals Charity.
