COMEDY and confusion combine in Wombwell Thespians next production “The Reunion” by Peter Gordon.
Nigel, arranges a reunion in the back room of a pub. Although he finds the turnout disappointing, he soon has his hands full with a middle-aged threesome bringing with them their assorted wives and girlfriends, prejudices and resentments which have simmered over the past 25 years.
This is a funny but poignant story of “small people” in a “big world”.
“The Reunion” introduces two new faces to our audiences. Frazer Smith and Russell Yapp have both been involved in amateur dramatics for a number of years.
Frazer, who plays the part of Mugsy, comes from Thorpe Hesley and has been in plays with Grenoside and Birley Carr Players and also with LS Productions at the Academy Theatre in Barnsley. He also admits to being in bawdy musical theatre!
Russell hails from Nottinghamshire and moved to this area two years ago.
He joined a local amateur group when he was 19 and more recently has belonged to the Kegworth Players in Leicestershire.
Russell plays the part of Nigel, a college lecturer and self-proclaimed success. As the evening progresses, he finds he has a lot to learn!
It runs from 19th to 22nd October 2011 at the Thespians Playhouse, Park Street Wombwell.
Tickets: £7 and £6 concessions from members of the Society, High Street News, or on the door on the night
