Patients at St John’s Hospice have received a boost from Soroptimists International of Doncaster, who have donated 60 bags of toiletries and a selection of ‘talking books’ for easy listening.

Soroptimists president Val Mullens and membership officer Carol Burton presented the gifts to the hospice.

Alison Constantine, voluntary services manager at St John’s, said: “We were delighted with the donation from the Soroptimists.

“Patients and families alike will be able to enjoy the talking books and toiletries are always a welcome gift. We are very grateful indeed for this generous donation.”

The Doncaster branch of Soroptimists International was formed in 1950 and the organisation has been a long-standing supporter of St John’s Hospice.
