A pensioner from Swinton has died almost a fortnight after a car crash.

Reginald Ensor, aged 82, had been discharged from hospital but had to be re-admitted and died within a few days.

Police are making a fresh appeal for witnesses to the incident, which happened in Kingsforth Lane, near to the junction with Sandy Lane, Rotherham, on Wednesday, September 11.

A blue Citroen Picasso, driven by Mr Ensor, was in a collision with a green Toyota Avensis at around 10.50pm.

Reginald Ensor, from Swinton, was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, and was discharged.

He was re-admitted to hospital on Thursday, September 19, but died on Tuesday, September 24.

A 41-year-old man from Dinnington, Nicholas Crane, was arrested and subsequently charged with driving over the prescribed limit and bailed to appear at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court.
