AFTERNOON tea was on the menu to thank volunteers who help out at a community centre.

Bosses at the Intake and Belle Vue Children’s Centre laid on a spread to thank caring folk who give up their time to help out.

Strawberries, cakes and a refreshing cup of cha were all served up.

The event at he centre in Ardeen Road, Intake, was also attended by the borough’s civic mayor, Coun Eva Hughes.

The centre provides a range of health and educational services for children and parents.
