FIVE fire engines were called to a terraced shop after the flames spread to two adjacent properties.

Fire crews were called at 4.25pm on Saturday to the Old Lollipop Shop in Main Avenue, Edlington , after the arson attack.

They spent five hours at the scene.

The properties have been badly damaged, but nobody was in them at the time of the fire, a fire service spokesman said.

The incident is being treated as arson, the spokesman added.
