A great sum resulted from the latest summer fundraiser for Epworth-based Team Verrico.

The sunny Strawberry Tea at the home of Joanna and Stu Wilks of Epworth Taxis made a grand sum of £1630 to boost the coffers of the hard-working cancer charity.

China crockery added charm to the occasion and was provided by Time for Vintage China and Accessory Hire. Epworth based Isle Lose It instructors helped with organisation and many people baked or gave support, donated raffle prizes or paid to join in the happy social afternoon.

Isle photographer Lesley Pickersgill also sold professional portraits and donated all fees amounting to over £100 to Team Verrico.

Jane Moffett of Isle Lose It said the tea was a “resounding success” and a “truly wonderful afternoon”.

Another similar event is now being planned for next year.

Team Verrico fundraises to aid research in to virulent strains of breast cancer and to help people and families smitten by the disease to secure all possible treatment.
