Superheroes delighted pupils at a Conisbrough school when they flew in to help launch an innovative handwriting scheme.

Batman, Catwoman and Spiderman joined young superheroes at Ivanhoe Primary Academy, as they celebrated all things heroic.

The ‘Handwriting Heroes’ event launched the school’s new scheme to inspire pupils to write clearly and creatively.

Entertainment was provided by the trio of masked visitors as they motivated their awestruck audience to get writing.

Teacher Jackie Sutton explained: “Our Handwriting Heroes Scheme praises all children as they reach milestones in their handwriting development; this ranges from the earliest writers to the most competent, fluent writers.

“This month we had three of our favourite super hero characters in school to help children with ideas about their work. All the children did a piece of writing and all were rewarded with a certificate.

“ It was a super hero, action packed day and fun was had by all.”
