Sunbed lovers are being warned that people under 18 can no longer use them.

Under The Sunbed Regulations Act 2010, which came in on April 8, tanning salons must ensure nobody 18 uses a sunbed on their premises.

Doncaster Council is enforcing it with fines of up to £20,000. Dr Rupert Suckling, Doncaster’s deputy director of public health, said excessive exposure to ultra violet light causes annually around 500 cases of skin cancer in Doncaster and 12 Doncaster residents die from more serious skin cancers annually.
