After a colder than usual spring South Yorkshire is set to get its first taste of summer of the year this weekend.
The cold northerly winds which brought snow and freezing temperatures to the region last week are now giving way to winds from a southerly direction.
Temperatures will continue to rise during the course of this week bringing some much overdo warmth by the weekend.
On Saturday temperatures will hit around 19C and on Sunday it will be even warmer as the mercury hits a very warm 21C.
The warm and sunny weather is set to continue until the early part of next week at least, with the longer range forecast proving uncertain.
