A DONCASTER Belles hotshot has netted another winner after she was named the borough’s sports personality of the year.
Vicky Exley was the big winner at the Doncaster Sports Awards.
The winners of the awards, designed to recognise the achievments of sporting personalities of all ages. were announced at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Vicky scored 25 goals in just 29 games last season and is now an essential part of the team competing in the first season of the FA Women’s Super League.
She said: “I was delighted to have even been nominated, to win the award was just fantastic. It was incredibly inspiring to be in a room with so many talented local people - it made me proud to be part of sport in Doncaster.”
Other winners on the night included Sprotbrough schoolboy and skiier Haydyn Firoi, junior sports personality of the year, and Blaxton-based Sheila Edmunds, one of the first Belles players, who won the lifetime achievement honour.
