Brave individuals from South Yorkshire could be among those recognised for outstanding deeds with launch of the Spirit of Fire Awards 2014.
The 2014 Spirit of Fire Awards will recognise the outstanding achievements of the people who have gone out of their way to either contribute to The Fire Fighters Charity or that have gone beyond the call of duty to assist in offering fire and rescue services to the general public.
The work of these extraordinary individuals makes up part of the rich tapestry of British culture and the Spirit of Fire Awards will offer a unique opportunity to reward colleagues, friends, family and members of the public who have demonstrated bravery within the fire community and outstanding dedication to The Fire Fighters Charity.
Nominations will run throughout the autumn. The awards ensure that the commitment of these individuals and the UK’s fire and rescue service as a whole do not go unnoticed; awarding a number of accolades to the general public and serving members of the fire and rescue service community, whose unending selfless support is often overlooked.
Hosted by BBC newsreader and journalist, Nicholas Owen, the awards will again welcome well-known celebrity guests – with the awards having recently been supported by Bruce Forsyth, Fern Britton, Esther Rantzen, Kevin Keegan and Carol McGiffin, to mention a few.
To find out more about the awards or to nominate a hero in your community, go to www.spiritoffireawards.co.uk or contact Rachelle Cornel on 0207 250 7043, or email@example.com email.
A grand awards ceremony will take place at Westminster Park Plaza, London on May 16 next year.
