SOUTH Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire embraced being funny for money as thousands of people raised money for Comic Relief.
Red noses were the order of the day at schools throughout the area, while at Doncaster College, the fundraisers ranged from eating bugs to camping in the woods, wearing fancy dress and baking in a Great British Bake Off challenge.
Children at Haxey Primary School dressed up in their pyjamas and baked cakes. Youngsters Day Nursery children, in Kilnhurst, also donned pyjamas.
Staff at the Little Learners Day Nursery at the Doncaster Deaf Trust, on Leger Way, held a fancy dress day, with both staff and children dressing up.
Natalie Marsh, nursery manager, said: “It is a fantastic charity and one that we have continued to support.
“The children really like getting dressed up for the day and it is great for the staff to get involved too.”
This year Comic Relief is celebrating 25 years of fundraising and helping to fund projects both in the UK and in Africa.
