A COURSE designed to help banish the bulge just in time for the summer season has started.

The Healthy Weights Solution courses that take place at the Holmescarr Centre in Rossington are already proving a big hit in the community helping residents stay on the straight and narrow in a bid to curb the calories.

Places for the 12 week course that started last week are still available for residents who want a helping hand to get in shape.

The sessions take place every Wednesday from 1pm to 2.30pm and feature tips from an NHS community food educator and the chance to get a weekly weigh in to monitor your progress.

The class is one of many taking place at the centre in Grange Lane that was established in a former junior school which lay dormant for six years prior to 2007 when it was resurrected by Rossington Development Trust (RDT) in a bid to give something back to the community.

Other courses on offer at the popular centre include a handmade cards craft session taking place every Monday from 1pm to 3pm.
