A DEARNE ‘Come Dine with Me’ occasion at a Bolton care home proved a hit with invited guests.

Local councillors joined the deputy mayor of Barnsley Margaret Sheard for a tv-type experience at Dearne Hall.

The 48-bed care home - one of the newest in the area, set up the community social event, with dinner and entertainment for residents and guests.

Dearne Hall chefs Claire Whalley, Kelly Jones and Elaine Allington served a home-cooked choice of dishes to diners including managing director and former Bolton resident, Mark Greaves. Dishes were then discussed and voted on.

Hall manager Vicky Ward said it had been a “warm and welcoming” afternoon.

The care home caters for residential and dementia care, and is operated by Ideal Care Homes.
