Snapper wins top accolade

A SNAPPER is celebrating after scooping a prestigious award for his work.

Chris Bevan, picked up Environmental Photographer of the Year at the British Institute of Professional Photographers Yorkshire Region 2011 annual awards after his image of boxing super featherweight champion Ricky Burns caught the judges’ eye.

Chris also received a merit for his picture of boxer Amir Khan in the Studio Portraiture category and a merit in the same category for a model snap.

The 45-year-old, of Askern, said: “It’s going really well at the minute and it’s nice to be recognised for my work and to get to meet people like Amir Khan and Ricky Burns is fantastic.”

Chris is no stranger to awards picking up Press and PR photographer of the Year in the Yorkshire region last year.
