Former Star ad-girl Liz Jackson is smiling after breaking the five-hour barrier in the London marathon.

Liz, who was an ad sales girl for the paper for 10 years, but now works at Asda in Harworth, finished the race in four hours and 53 minutes, and raised around £500 for the MS Society in memory of her mum, Margaret, who had the illness.

Liz, aged 39, of Wheatley Hills, said she was ‘really happy’ with her finish time.
