Competitors in the 2016 Belton Barrow Race were no push-overs and had a wheely good time.
The annual event, which this year was based around The Wheatsheaf pub in Westgate, saw young and old getting involved. Participants took part in different age categories, pushing each other around the village in wheelbarrows. Winners in each section were: Adults - Simon Bradwell and Andrew Hopkins; Veterans - Simon Cliff and James Bland; 14 to 17-years-olds - Nathan Rae-Hassall and Owen Patterson; Ten to 13-year-olds - Georgia Campion and Molly Thompson; Five to nine-year-olds - Charlotte and Jonah Rae-Hassall; Adult and child - Mark Beecroft and Georgia Hughes. Our photographer Lesley Pickersgill went along to the race and captured the following images: 1. James Bland, Adrian Noble and Paul Hunter (in the barrows) and Simon Cliff, Jody Parkin and Tiffany Hunter; 2.
