Waiting for Video...

Doncaster was alive with the sound of music as hundreds turned out in force to enjoy an eclectic weekend of fun.

The town took a Victorian twist, with the second Steampunk Doncaster festival that attracted fans and newcomers from as far afield as Spain.

Held at the Doncaster School for the Deaf, the festival was a celebration of the steampunk movement, that combines the Victorian era with futuristic imagery from authors such as Jules Verne and HG Wells and included activities such as steampunk photography workshops, fashion shows, to Victorian-style martial arts.

Tracy Maher, 51, attended the festival with her husband Richard. She said:“It’s been great. Steampunk is really about a bit of escapism, and disappearing somewhere else for an afternoon.”
