SLIDESHOW: Lots to enjoy at fun family events

There was plenty of fun in the sun as summer finally made an appearance.

As temperatures sizzled folk across the area made the most of the sunshine by turning out in their droves for a number of community events.

A great time was had by all in Epworth at the Stepping Stones Pre-School Gala that took place at the newly-opened Old School Inn and raised £900.

Spokesman Alison England said: “We had a fantastic afternoon.

“We feel very lucky to have the support of such a great community and will be asking parents for their ideas for spending the funds.”

At Belton All Saints’ Church and School, there were plenty of smiling faces at the 30th summer fun day with mini-Olympics.

The sun also helped draw record crowds to the Misterton Gala where attractions included a tug of war, gymnastics displays and soaking in the stocks.
