SIDESHOW: Summertime sensation in the sun!

All the fun of the fair came to Bessacarr at the weekend as fans of summer fairs took advantage of the sunshine for a terriffic day out.

Bessacarr Primary SChool’s pupils were red hot fundraisers– the school’s summer fair, combined with an Enterprise Week, raised an amazing £1,700 as entreprenerial pupils sold biscuits, handmade cards, homemade playdo and plant pots to raise cash.

But the biggest earner was the ever popular gunge a teacher, which saw the school’s only male members of staff – Mr Manning and Mr Smith – take a less than pleasant dip!

Headteacher Sarah Davies said: “It was a great day and the pupils really surpassed themselves with their hard work and dedication – they did brilliantly!
