Showman site decision is deferred

A DECISION on controversial plans for a showmen site have been deferred after concerns were raised about the impact of large vehicles.

Doncaster Council’s planning committee were recommended to grant permission for the plans in Mosscroft Lane, Hatfield Woodhouse but police traffic management officer, Anthony Ashton, advised a trial run of the largest vehicles before permission was granted.

753 letters have been received in opposition to the proposal.

Protestors who are taking legal action against the plans with a judicial review say the of 100 ft vehicles on country lanes will endanger other road users.

The decision was deferred to a date to be fixed.
