Creative folk lined up to visit Doncaster College’s first arts and crafts festival at its town centre Hub Campus last week.
A number of stalls holders and artists were just starting out on the business road and Dawn Hollingsworth of DH Photography has only been running her business for three weeks.
Dawn, from Bessacarr near Doncaster, said: “I was encouraged by friends and family to make a go of it and so I set up with the help of the college and now I’m booked up with work for the next few weeks.”
Dawn’s work on show included fascinating and detailed pictures of her trips around Europe by train as well as her portraits and landscapes.
The public were able to enjoy a whole host of arts and crafts on offer with local and travelling businesses attending including J’adore Interiors, Return to Splendour at Home, Castleview Photography, Whatevertakesyourfancy hand designed hessian bags, DH Photography and many more.
Organiser Ann Jackson said: “Over the last year Doncaster College has become a hive of arts and crafts start up businesses thanks to the net315 ERDF programme. This was a fantastic opportunity for them to showcase their businesses with everything from fashion, interior and handbag design to photographers.”
