Sheffield's The Botanist bubbling for children's hospital charity

Since opening in October 2016, The Botanist in Leopold Square (Sheffield) has raised almost £2,000 for The Children's Hospital Charity with the donation of a percentage from children's meals and limited edition cocktails.

The restaurant and bar chain branch handed over a cheque for £1,970 to the Charity earlier this week, which has been raised over the last few months by donating 25p of each child’s meal and £1 from limited edition cocktails such as its Christmas ‘Merry Good Thymes’.

Jodie Osakwe, General Manager for the site said: “We are very proud to be supporting the Children’s Hospital Charity. The Hospital is renowned across the UK for its services and we hope our donation will make a difference.”

Clare Collingworth, corporate fundraiser at The Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “The team at The Botanist have done fantastically well raising this money for our charity. All money raised through such generosity goes to one of four key areas; research into the prevention and cure of childhood illnesses, new medical equipment, new facilities and improvements to the environment. Thank you so much for this generous donation.”

Sheffield Children’s Hospital is one of only four dedicated children’s hospital trusts in the UK and provides integrated healthcare for children and young people. The Children’s Hospital Charity provides over and above the standard NHS provision, enhancing Sheffield Children’s Hospital and matching world class equipment with existing world class expertise.

The Botanist officially opened its doors in October, and offers its guests a range of botanical-style cocktails, locally sourced and world renowned gins and ales along with an honest, rotisserie style menu to accompany a vast drinks range.
