THIS was the happy scene in one Doncaster street 30 years ago - and now the town is ready to stage another round of parties to celebrate the Royal Wedding.

Residents are stringing up the bunting and getting ready to party with several roads around the borough cordoned off to celebrate Prince William and Kate Middleton’s big day at Westminster Abbey tomorrow.

Organisers will be hoping for glorious sunshine just like in this picture from 29 July, 1981 when residents in Jefferson Avenue, Clay Lane, partied to mark the marriage of Charles and Diana.
