A JUNIOR school has released its own CD to mark the opening of its new hall.
With the help of American singer-songwriter Kathy Stewart, who lives in Edinburgh, 23 children from Kirk Sandall Junior School recorded a professional album entitled Keep a Candle Burning.
The songs were a tribute to former teacher Al Moir, who died last December, and to celebrate the building of a brand new hall for which the community has been waiting for a long time.
Mr Moir was a friend of the singer, who had previously collaborated on a school musical. During the summer the children travelled to Edinburgh to record the CD.
“The CD has six songs which are lively, catchy and unique and well worth listening to,” said headteacher Joanne Addy.
The release of the album coincided with a concert in front of 200 people which also marked the opening of the new hall.
