IT’S all action for one student who has been shortlisted for a prestigious film award.
Saxon Rix, 23, produced a music video called ‘Mindblind’ which was entered into the music category of the British Student Film Festival competition and is one of only three productions to be picked from thousands across the country.
Saxon, a third year student at Doncaster’s University Centre, completed the video as part of a college module for his Moving Image Production course.
The creative Askern film-maker produced the music video for a track by fellow student Jamie Shield.
Saxon said: “We had to put the video into a festival as part of the module. I didn’t expect it to be shortlisted but I feel pretty good about it.
“I’d used other genres in other films this year so wanted to do something different and the music from Jamie had a sci-fi edge to it.”
‘Mindblind’ will be shown at screenings in London, Liverpool, Bristol and Newcastle and judges will decide the winners in each category at the award ceremony in London on Friday.
The British Student Film Festival is a digital student film exhibition that showcases the work of school, college and university students.
